Serendipity is good luck in finding valuable things unintentionally. . . examples of serendipity have an important characteristic: they were made by individuals able to “see bridges where others saw holes” and connect events creatively, based on the perception of a significant link,” Wikipedia.org One day, while searching the internet, I came across The White Spirit […]

Paper Neck, the title of the new single by Phantom Phunk might infer an inability hold a heavy load, but nothing could be farther from the truth. From the opening moments of the track one is thrown into the big arena, where only legendary rock bands go.  This song, no doubt, will propel Phantom Phunk into the mainstream heavy metal conscience.

Sasha’s amped out vocals kick the door wide open for the downpour of drums and bass that rumble under the lightening flash of guitars. Heavy, uncompromising and deep, Paper Neck leads you right into the storm. And as all Phunk Phans know, Phantom Phunk’s music requires the listener to dig below the surface to find meaning. The second to last line of the lyrics asks a simple question – “Do we have the exact same problems?” yet that line alone can evoke a million conversations and quite a few thesis papers.

After their signature “Tommy’s Cosmic Avocado,” off of their first album, Arboles Ossific, it is hard to believe that another epic song was coming right on the heels of their debut.  Released as a new single before their second album hits the shelves, Paper Neck leaves us with only one question: Is there anything this band can’t do?

Check it out below.

Sometimes I don’t have the attention span to pay attention to a “new” show on Netflix.  That is when I rely on a “go to” show. A “go to show” is  one that has familiar characters and interesting story lines, but episodes that stand alone.  I can fall asleep, wake up, go to the next episode and not miss anything.  It is a show that I can watch over and over and not get bored, yet, not see for years.  This kind of show is almost like comfort food for the brain.

My “go to” show is NCIS.  Currently I am watching Season 3, Episode 13.  Besides the quality of the show and the great characters, there are 12 seasons on Netflix.  I can binge for hours and hours or not.  What a great feeling.

Your favorite “go to” show?

Sometimes the path we take has unexpected barriers. For children with complicated illnesses every day can bring unexpected barriers. There is no better support for these children and their families than competent doctors and other parents and families who have gone through the same things. There is a way to get past the barrier and keep on going.

The purpose of White Bear’s World is to become a place for children to visit while they are in the hospital and even when they are home.  Plans for interactive games, apps and other creative outlets are only now in their planning stages. It is going to take a lot of work and a lot of kind hearted people offering their talents to make our vision a reality.   So far the assistance we have gotten is quite overwhelming and very soon some of it will be shared.

We also hope White Bear’s World will become a…

Inspiration from Zion: This is a Love Story

How many people stop to consider what life is like, after the terror attack is over?

Very often lives are changed, forever.

The murder of Dafna Meir was one of the more horrifying attacks Israel experienced last year. How many people stopped to consider Renana afterwards? What will her life be like?

Eldest of Dafna and Natan Meir’s six children, it was Renana who interrupted the terrorist in the middle of stabbing her mother to death. It was Renana who saw the terrorist trying to pull the knife out of her mother’s body so he could stab more people.

It was Renana who saw Dafna struggling to keep the knife inside her body so that he couldn’t hurt her children.

3 of her 6 children were in the house. Dafna’s refusal to allow them to be hurt and Renana’s screams were what made the terrorist give up and run away.
